👋🏽 I’m a gaming and interactive media exec and exited founder. Currently, I’m Head of Strategy and Partnerships at Sequence, where I lead stratops while supporting ecosystems, developers, and enterprises in unlocking the benefits of web3 to create novel studio and company economics and reward users. I believe strongly in the potential for new technologies to solve universal developer challenges in UA, monetization, and retention, and to enable the flywheel of multichannel businesses in an increasingly transmedia landscape. I write about this space regularly on my blog, Let’s Play.
Previously, I ran business development, partnerships, creator programs, IP licensing, content, and strategy for the NFT collectibles and gamified marketplace of Animoca Brands. Having been in both live ops game manager and B2B positions, my career has been defined by a passion for supporting games, anticipating market shifts, and building commercial strategies that let players, audiences, and business stakeholders participate in increasingly intertwined ecosystems.
Before Sequence and Animoca, I was part of the founding exec team and VP of Business Development & Product at SuperData Research, the world's leading provider of data and strategy in digital games, esports, VR, and gaming video content. SuperData was acquired by Nielsen in 2018 and I stayed on as a VP there until starting another company, Britesiders.
At SuperData, I led our product strategy, commercial practice, strategic partnerships, and helped launch industry-changing platforms, including the SuperData Arcade and Arena.
Beyond the banality that the concept of market intelligence evokes, what we really did at SuperData was craft the creative visions and interactive media strategies for gaming companies including EA, Epic, Riot, Tencent, and Activision; media leaders like HBO, Fox, Disney, Warner Bros; brands like Coca Cola and Mars; big tech like Facebook, Google, Twitch, Apple; and every hedge fund involved in games.
After Nielsen, I cofounded Britesiders, a platform for gamified, interactive charity crowdfunding that raised 300% more than any other fundraising method. We got up to a lot of shenanigans.
I’m a gamer at heart, and have seen (and helped accelerate) some of the biggest shifts in the space over the last decade+. Physical -> Digital -> Subscription -> F2P -> The future. I believe that UGC, AI, and web3 technology underpin the next evolution in gaming, and that they will fundamentally change how companies harness the internet while unlocking net-new opportunities and experiences for players and consumers.
